My Wedding Photography Journey: Reflecting on 2021
Well, what a year! 2021 has been an absolute whirlwind for my wedding photography journey. While I’d love to say I enjoyed every moment, the truth is, it’s been tough at times. But through every challenge, I’ve stayed focused on the positives — and there have been plenty of them!
This year, I had the honour of capturing 27 weddings. Each one brought something different and reminded me why I love telling love stories through photographs. From garden ceremonies to rustic barns, every wedding has added something special to my journey as a wedding photographer.

Unforgettable Moments and Special Memories
One standout moment from 2021 was during Mr. and Mrs. Bonsor’s big day. Everyone gathered for the bouquet toss… except it wasn’t quite what they expected! Mrs. Bonsor danced her way over to her maid of honour and instead of tossing the bouquet, her partner dropped to one knee behind her. She turned around — and said YES!
It was the most unforgettable surprise proposal, and a huge highlight of my wedding photography journey this year.
Celebrating Achievements and Big Changes
This year also brought some huge milestones for me. I was over the moon to win a Bronze Award from The Guild of Photographers for a portrait of the lovely Mrs. Crawford. And another exciting moment? I was named a regional finalist in The Wedding Industry Awards — the ceremony was held on 17th January, and it was an incredible night.

A New Beginning: Going Full-Time
The biggest shift in my wedding photography journey came at the very start of 2022. I officially left my part-time job and became a full-time wedding photographer. Exciting? Absolutely. A little bit scary? Also yes! But I’m thrilled to be doing what I love, every single day.
This move means I’ll be taking on more weddings, offering more services, and having even more time to give my couples the best experience possible.
