April 6th, 2024, was a day filled with love, laughter, and an incredible amount of music as Amy and Jacob tied the knot at the picturesque Lains Barn in Wantage. From start to finish, this wedding was a beautiful reflection of who they are as a couple—creative, relaxed, and deeply connected through music.
What stood out most about Amy and Jacob’s wedding was how much they made it about them. Every detail, from the music to the cake to the overall vibe, reflected who they are as individuals and as a couple and you will see why…
The morning started at Barton House, which is just a 3 minute drive away to Lains Barn so it is the perfect place to get ready. Let me start off by saying that Barton House is such a stunning place to get ready in the morning. There is so much natural light coming through. The rooms and the grounds are wonderful, there is so plenty of space to capture so many moments.
The morning with Amy and her girls and her wonderful family was incredible. It was a perfect and relaxed morning, all bridesmaid’s did their own make up or helped each other. Oh, I have got to say one thing… the bridesmaids and groomsmen… ultimate goals! They full stepped up for their bride and groom and it was so incredible to watch them making sure that the couple had the best day ever.
I adore capturing the moment. Letting the day unfold.
Jacob took on the impressive task of baking the wedding cake himself, Look how amazing it is?! And I have got to say, not only did it look amazing (I was shocked when I found out that Jacob had made it!) but it tasted delicious as well.
This beautiful handcrafted cake was just one example of how they made the wedding truly their own.
A few other little personal touches they added to their day was their story in photos, from babies until now when they came together. How wonderful is this?

Happiness
Their ceremony was definitely one to remember. Well, you know how I said music runs through their love story? I have never captured a ceremony like it before. The beautiful Amy sang her vows, which brought tears to everyone’s eyes… with joy and laughter! They then delighted all their guests as while they signed the register, the bridesmaids sang such a beautiful song… but… everyone (including myself and Steve the videographer) was so surprised when the groomsmen flash-mobbed us with N-sync! The musical numbers did not stop there. There was a gorgeous Welsh number and listening to everyone sing “What a Wonderful World” by Lois Armstrong gave me actual goosebumps!
The fun did not stop for this couple and their guests! Smiles and laughter lasted all day long.
I am a photographer that loves to capture your group photos and I don’t really mind how many or how little you have. The more you have the longer it might take. And yes, it can be a little tough to gather everyone up at times but I know how important these photos are to you. Your favourite people are with you and you want that memory.
That being said… I love to bring the fun!
Once the room was set up and ready for the wedding breakfast, I just had to take photos, it looked incredible and those personal little touches that Amy and Jacob added to their tables, were so perfect. Each one marked something important to them. The top table was called Royal Albert Hall Proms… it is where Jacob asked Amy to be his girlfriend and then 6 years later, where he asked her to be his wife… how sweet and romantic is that?
One of my most favourite parts of the day is when I take the couple off away from everyone. This was, you get to have a little downtime and take a breath. Plus, it is so much more relaxing having your portraits without everyone staring at you, especially if you are feeling nervous. For Amy and Jacob, Steve and I took them back to Barton House for some fun and beautiful moments. We danced, we had smoke bombs, and special moments together
Natural moments are my favourite
Everyone was so happy for the very yummy cake to be cut!
Well… what can I say about their evening reception?! It was flipping incredible!
Amy and Jacob had a beautiful first dance…
BUT
The. Beat. Dropped and the dancefloor went CRAZY! I have never had a dancefloor that full, it was great to see every guest up on their feet and having THE BEST time and the band were on fire. It was an incredible day from start to finish.
If you’re planning a wedding and want to make it personal, take a page from Amy and Jacob’s book. Let your personality shine through, and don’t be afraid to make the day truly about you. Whether it’s incorporating a shared passion like music, baking your own cake, or just creating a relaxed and joyful atmosphere, your wedding day should be a reflection of your love story—just like Amy and Jacob’s was.
