Worried about being in front of the camera? Here are a few tips to help you relax!

Most of… if not all of my couples say they do not like being in front of the camera. They feel nervous or a little awkward. I get it, you want your photos to be AMAZING. You want them to reflect all the love and joy that will unfold on your beautiful wedding day but I know the pressure of “posing” can make you feel a little stiff and uncomfortable. This post is packed with ways to help you feel confident in front of the camera and enjoy the experience.

Find a Photographer You Trust to Feel Comfortable on Camera

1.It really is that simple. During your wedding planning journey, you’ll meet many photographers. Always go with the one who makes you feel relaxed and supported. When you connect with someone whose style you love and who puts you at ease, it naturally helps you feel more confident in front of the camera.

Book an Engagement Shoot to Boost Your Confidence

2  .Engagement sessions are amazing practice! They give you a chance to experience how your photographer works, what being photographed actually feels like, and what to expect on the day. You’ll build trust and get beautiful, natural photos in a relaxed setting. Win-win!

Focus on Each Other, Not the Lens

3 .On your wedding day, one of my favourite things is whisking you away for some quiet moments together. I’ll gently guide you, but mostly it’s about you two reconnecting—holding hands, sharing a joke, or just soaking in the moment. This helps you forget the camera is even there and naturally feel relaxed and confident.

Let Go of Perfection and Embrace the Moment

5 . The best photos often come from the unexpected moments—bursts of laughter, teary eyes, messy hair and all. When you let go of the need to be perfect, that’s when your true personality shines through. It’s those real emotions that make your gallery magical.

Take a Breath and Re-center

6 . Feeling nerves sneak in? That’s okay! I’ll always remind you to pause, breathe, and come back to the present. Taking a quiet moment with your partner helps ground you and instantly helps you feel confident in front of the camera again.
