2022 Wedding Photography Highlights – What a Year!

I’m not even sure where to begin with this blog – my final post of 2022. Time really does fly when you’re having fun! As I look back over the past twelve months, I’m feeling grateful, emotional, and proud. This year has been full of growth, connection, and creativity — all through the lens of my camera. And what better way to wrap it up than with some of my favourite 2022 wedding photography highlights?

A Year of Achievements and Firsts

This year has been packed with unforgettable moments and professional milestones. I made it to the finals of both the Muddy Stilettos Awards and The Wedding Industry Awards, which honestly blew me away. Even more exciting? Some of my work was featured in magazines — a dream come true!

And the biggest win of all? I captured 40 weddings! Yep, you read that right — forty. Alongside that, I photographed a couple of engagement sessions, a few family shoots, a corporate event, and three beautiful styled shoots. Many of those weddings were at new venues too, which I absolutely loved exploring. There’s something so exciting about finding fresh photo spots and getting creative in new spaces.

Connecting With Couples & Suppliers

One of the best parts of 2022 has been meeting incredible couples and wonderful suppliers. I did several wedding shows this year and chatted with so many of you planning your big day. Thank you for stopping by my stand and trusting me with such an important role in your wedding — it means the world.

A huge shoutout also to the talented wedding suppliers I’ve worked alongside. You’ve been a joy to connect with, and I feel lucky to call so many of you friends now. If you’re new here and curious about who I am and what it’s like to work with me, check out my About LB Photography page.

Favourite Wedding Moments from 2022

There were so many stand-out moments this year, but one I’ll never forget was Heaven and Sam’s wedding. They had a beautiful church ceremony followed by a heartfelt reception at The Arnold House. During the speeches, Sam held up a Canon camera and so did Heaven. With all their favourite people in one room, they revealed the gender of their baby… It’s a boy! Not a single dry eye in sight.

That moment sums up everything I love about my job — real emotion, shared joy, and being part of stories that matter.

Venue Love – Where 2022 Took Me

2022 brought me to some absolutely stunning venues. From barn weddings to elegant manor houses, each place had its own charm and style. Here are just a few favourites from the year:

Many of these were new to me this year, which kept things exciting. As a photographer, I love discovering new locations and being inspired by fresh surroundings.

Photography, Growth & My Little Pink World

Let’s talk numbers — out of my first 20 weddings this year, 13 were at venues I’d never shot at before. Some couples ask if I’ve worked at their venue before, and while I totally get why that’s helpful, I promise it’s not essential. Exploring new spaces gives me creative freedom and means no two galleries ever look the same.

It’s been a year of personal and professional growth. From capturing big I do’s to sneaky cake bites and happy tears, these 2022 wedding photography highlights mean everything to me.

Thank You for an Incredible Year 💕

As you can probably tell, I’m finishing 2022 with a very full heart. To all the couples who invited me into their wedding days — thank you. You made me feel like a friend, not just a photographer. And that? That’s the best feeling in the world.

There are so many more stories I could share, but I’ll leave it here (this blog is getting long enough already, right?!). I can’t wait to see what 2023 brings.
